Welcome to the French Cultural Association “Alliance Française” of Szeged!
ABOUT US
Our Alliance Française aims to introduce people to and foster a love of the French language, as well as French and Francophone cultures.
Who are we?
Founded in 1991, the Alliance Française de Szeged is part of one of the world’s largest cultural and language networks, comprising more than 829 institutions across five continents and 133 countries. Like all Alliances Françaises around the world, the Alliance Française de Szeged is non-political and non-religious, and is one of the leading reference centres for learning French as a foreign language. Our institution is also an accredited DELF/DALF examination centre.
The activities of the Alliance Française of Szeged are organised by a team of dedicated volunteers and teachers committed to promoting the French language and French and Francophone cultures. They carry out their work in a caring, dynamic and multicultural environment.

COURSES
FOR ALL

GROUP COURSES / FEES
Each session consists of 30 hours of classes. Each class lasts 45 minutes.
Rates depend on the number of learners:
3–5 learners: HUF 3,000/hour; HUF 2,400/hour for our members with the member discount.
6–10 learners: HUF 1,875/hour; HUF 1,500/hour for our members with the member discount.
On Wednesday late afternoons, we also offer a conversation group (minimum B2 level), where participants can practise their French with a native French-speaking teacher while discussing current topics.
Individual lessons / Fees
Fully personalised, this course allows you to improve your grammar, speaking skills, writing skills or pronunciation, or to prepare for a specific goal, according to your needs and schedule.
HUF 7,500 / 60 minutes
HUF 6,000 / 60 minutes for our members
Language levels
A1 – Beginner level / 96 hours
A2 – Elementary level / 240 hours
B1 – Intermediate level / 400 hours
B2 – Intermediate level / 600 hours
C1 – Advanced level / 900 hours
C2 – Proficiency level / 1,000+ hours
EXAMS
DELF / DALF LANGUAGE EXAMS
At the Alliance Française of Szeged, candidates can take the DELF (A1, A2, B1, B2) and DALF (C1) French language examinations. These official monolingual French language diplomas are aligned with the levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) and are officially recognised in Hungary and worldwide. Each exam consists of four sections assessing the following language skills:
- Listening comprehension
- Reading comprehension
- Written production
- Oral production
To pass the exam, candidates must obtain at least 50 points out of 100 in total, as well as a minimum of 5 points out of 25 in each section. Our courses provide targeted preparation for the DELF and DALF exams. Detailed official information about the exams is available on the website below:
